Trivia

The addition of Quicksilver to the cast sparked wide discussion over the direction of the character who is also slated to appear in X-Men: Days of Future Past (2014). Quicksilver had been discussed previously as a potential character in both X-Men: The Last Stand (2006) and The Avengers (2012), but legal complexities over the license to the character resulted in his omission from both films. However, in May 2013 both Marvel and Fox Studios announced a resolution to the previous legal issues, and that Quicksilver would appear in this film as well as an X-Men sequel, though under certain parameters: no allusion to his relations to the X-Men or Magneto (the character's father) can be made in an "Avengers" film, and no reference to Quicksilver's membership in the Avengers can be made in an "X-Men" film; the rights agreement between Fox and Marvel even goes so far as to stipulate the character cannot be referred to as a "mutant" in any Marvel film. Additionally, the day after Fox announced Evan Peters as Quickilver, Marvel and Fox entered into a legal standoff over provisions of the rights agreement for the character, including the issue of whether Peters would be allowed to portray Quicksilver in any other film outside the "X-Men" franchise, necessitating a second actor to play Quicksilver in any Marvel film, resulting in two different versions of the same character appearing in two competing film series

Better then the first!

Avengers age of Ultron is by far the best Marvel movie to date. It has all the elements of the first movie, but steps it up in the action, character and dialog. I went into this movie with very unrealistically high expectations. So when I saw this movie, I was very worried but excited.

All the cast from the previous Avengers movie all reprise their roles. Robert Downey Juinor was amazing as Ironman. Chris Evans and Chris Hemsworth were both great as Captain America and the mighty Thor. Scarlett Johanson was brilliant as Black Widow and was even more bad-ass in this movie, than any of her other films. Her role was substantially bigger this time around. This can also be said about Hawkeye, who's role was way bigger in this movie. In fact, Hawkeye even has some of the best lines and the best action sequences. Mark ruffilo was once again amazing as Hulk and Bruce Banner. The one character that stole the show, would be James Spader. He embodies an evil AI robot perfectly. He can be really calm and yet menacing and sometimes he can be full of rage and anger. Aron Taylor Johnson and Elisibeth Olsin are also a great new edition to the marvel universe. The scarlet Witch character has a big part in the film also.

The action has been dialed up and the set pieces are bigger and better. The cgi can seem a little off at times, but other than that, it looks fantastic.

The movie also spends time on the relationships and past of some characters, which leads to some great character moments. This is much more emotional, than the first movie. I would defiantly say that this movie is better than the first Avengers Movie!

Pierre Morel knows from action movies – and action movie franchises. The French director helped capture the big screen images we saw in, among other films, "The Messenger: The Story of Joan of Arc" (1999), "The Truth about Charlie" (2002) and the first two "Transporter" movies (2002 and 2005). Soon after, Morel graduated to director, helming the original "Taken" (2008), the movie which reinvented Liam Neeson as an action film star, followed that with John Travolta's "From Paris with Love" (2010) and then "The Gunman". That's a very good resume – and "The Gunman" is a very good film!

Morel's latest globe-trotting actioner stars Sean Penn (in his first major big screen role in two years) as Jim Terrier, an ex-special forces soldier. He then finds work with the CIA as a member of a security detail protecting employees of NGOs in third world countries like the Congo. Jim's group also has a "parallel mission" of doing financially and politically motivated hits for unknown organizations who are pretty high in the global pecking order. Jim's less than thrilled with his job and suddenly flees Africa, leaving his surgeon girlfriend, Annie (Jasmine Trinca), in the care of his boss, Felix (Javier Bardem).

Eight years later, Jim is a broken man, apparently trying to atone for a past that just can't seem to leave him alone. He suffers from massive headaches and other disorienting symptoms from blows to the head he took while working as a special operator. Emotionally, he's not in much better shape. He hasn't seen Annie since he left her without explanation and he also regrets the things he's done professionally. His answer is to come back to the Congo to help dig wells that will provide the locals with safer and more accessible drinking water. One day, a group of gun and machete-wielding thugs storm the site where Jim is working. They're either really upset about what's coming out of their taps at home, or they have an even more serious beef with him. Jim sets out to discover the reason for the attempt on his life before it's too late. This leads him to reconnect with acquaintances from his past (Ray Winstone and Mark Rylance) and make new acquaintances (Idris Elba), while using his own "particular set of skills" to stay alive long enough to get to the bottom of what's been happening. His quest takes him from the Congo to London, Gibraltar and Barcelona. There are shoot-outs, fight scenes and chases aplenty and the movie gives us one of the more original climactic scenes that I've witnessed in quite a while.

For those of us who see a lot of movies, it's tough to make an action movie original and exciting, but Morel is just the guy to do it and "The Gunman" fits the bill quite nicely. Penn brings his usual intensity to the role – while highlighting his personal interest in helping the underprivileged around the world. (I personally know someone who saw Penn walking the streets of Port-au-Prince, Haiti in the weeks following that country's devastating 2010 earthquake.) While the action's backdrop makes the story a little political, it also allows for an interesting variety of characters and locales to parade across the big screen. Penn's character's former associates (and new enemies) are appropriately duplicitous, menacing and ruthless. The fight scenes are well-choreographed and suspenseful, while the main character's medical issues add an unusual and interesting dimension to his situation. I couldn't tell you if this film is meant to be Sean Penn's "Taken", but it is fun and exciting enough to warrant checking out. "A-"

The first impression of Liam Neeson in this year is for sure not so good , with his Taken 3 is pretty terrible , for sure it's not his fault in most part but it's still the movie he starring in.

After just only 2 months here we go again with a new Liam Neeson movie "Run All Night " which makes me feels like i don't know what to expected from this movie since like i said before Taken 3 is terrible and the movie trailer feels boring and repetitive.

But after i saw this movie i really think there's still hope in Liam Neeson movie with Run All Night being this good.

The most surprising thing in this movie for me is the script is actually really good Brad Inglesby used the relationship between father and son in the movie and tie it to the main conflict of the movie really well.

Also the 2 main characters which is Liam Neeson and Ed Harris characters are so good that just make watching them try to kill / revenge each other fun to watch.

The Director Jaume Collet-Serra is pretty good in this movie too , with his fun and exciting storytelling , although i wish he use the "Survive in One Night" theme more because right now i just don't feel like the movie have to use that theme at all.

Overall Run All Night is a good action movie with good action scene , great characters and the movie always know what it want to tell , which is how much father love their son , even their son is totally a terrible person they still love them and will do anything to help them.

Just as Peter Jackson felt that LOTR had to be made as one large, three-part, cinematic piece, I decided to write my IMDb review of all three movies as a single, multi-part essay. Click on my screen-name and hit "Chronological" to view my reviews of the Fellowship and Two Towers. I make no guarantees about the quality and consistence of my review, but I do guarantee that these three films offer very high and very consistent quality from beginning to end. The acting, cinematography, art, and direction simply can not be beat.

Which of the three movies is my favorite varies with my mood – and the same holds true for Tolkien's books. When I am immersed in the story, ROTK is my favorite. When I simply want to have fun with the whole experience, I love Fellowship. And when I want something intense, evocative and thoughtful, I go for the Two Towers.

Frodo, Sam and Golem are on their way to Mount Doom and their bodies, nerves, and relationships have borne the greatest burden on middle earth. The rest of the fellowship is rallying to the defense of Minas Tirith, and preparing for even more deadly battles to come.

The heroism and romance are incredibly moving - when was the last time you saw an entire audience leaving a theater after a fantasy movie rubbing their eyes? The sets are breathtaking - even moreso than in the previous two films.

The casting and acting are superb.

The film delivers at every level and is the jewel in the trilogy's well-earned crown.

Return of the King offers a resolution of all of the major story arcs in LOTR. As with the classic Tolkien trilogy, however, you may be able to predict some of what will occur, but never all of it and you'll never guess how you will get there. The same fatalistic and paradoxically unpredictable feeling of Tolkien's grand plots is present throughout ROTK especially. The major theme in ROTK, however, is the varied ways and means of heroism – both intentional and unintended, and Tolkien's examination of sacrifice and heroism is as inspiring as it is subtle. Amazingly, it all comes through in the films.

Even more than the previous two films, Jackson and his writers took liberties with the story-line. Like the others, however, this serves the film better than simple adaptation from one medium to another. By reordering some of the chronology and adding scenes and plot devices which are consistent with Tolkien's world and characterizations, the film-makers actually do a better job of preserving the concepts and themes of the story than they could have with a pure adaptation. The lengthy epilogue in Tolkien's book is greatly reduced, reordered, and somewhat changed in order to work in the film. Some parts actually appear very early in ROTK. And some aspects of Tolkien's epilogue are disclosed in the Two Towers, though not directly depicted. But all of the really important components of the epilogue are, at least strongly implied if not well illustrated in ROTK.
